The stay
Is the bubble warm in winter?
The bubble has heating and electric blankets. Guests have slept comfortably at -7 °C outside. In winter the stay is even more special because of the atmosphere. Do bring warm clothes.
How long does the hot tub take to heat up?
On average one hour per 10 degrees. The wood is laid out; you light it yourself and add wood now and then until the water is up to temperature. So stay close by, and count the hot tub as part of your evening.
Can I cook in the outdoor kitchen?
Yes. There is a covered outdoor kitchen with a stove and everything you need. The barbecue stands separately beside it, and the gas is included.
Is there a fridge?
Yes. There is a small fridge under the worktop in the outdoor kitchen, with room enough for your groceries and your drinks.
Do you offer breakfast?
No, we do not provide breakfast. You make your own in the outdoor kitchen: there is a hob, a small fridge and crockery, and coffee and tea are ready for you. The Albert Heijn in Middenbeemster is about a five-minute drive away, and there are bakeries in the area.
Is there wifi?
There is deliberately no wifi, so you can step away from the noise for a night. The mobile signal is strong enough to stream and to make calls.
Is there electricity in the bubble?
Yes. There are sockets, lighting and places to charge your things.
Can you stay in bad weather?
Yes. The bubble is fully weatherproof and heated. Rain on the transparent roof only adds to the atmosphere. In a storm, we advise you to get in touch.
Location and getting here
Is parking easy?
Yes. You park free of charge on site, right by the accommodation.
Is there public transport nearby?
Yes. There is a bus stop a five-minute walk away. One change and you are in Amsterdam. Ideal if you want to combine the city with quiet in nature.
How quiet is it at night?
Almost silent. The bubble stands in your own spot in the forest, with no other guests and no traffic nearby. All you hear are birds and wind.
Are there restaurants nearby?
Yes. The Beemster and Purmerend have plenty of restaurants, from casual to fine dining. Every kind of kitchen is less than a ten-minute drive away.
Practical
When can I check in and check out?
Check-in is from 3pm, so that everything is ready and waiting for you. Check-out is until 11am, so you can still start the morning slowly.
How does check-in work?
Check-in is entirely contactless. Before you arrive you receive all the instructions and an access code. Check-in is from 3pm.
Are pets allowed?
Much as we love animals, pets are not allowed at the moment, so that we can safeguard the other animals on the grounds.
Booking
Is there a minimum stay?
No. You can book a single night.
Can we propose at the bubble?
Absolutely. The bubble has been the setting for several proposals. You can add a romantic package with decoration, champagne and extras. Get in touch through the contact page.
