The Beemster, briefly explained
Beemster is not a village but a whole landscape: a polder, meaning land reclaimed from water. That is why the roads run dead straight and the fields sit in exact rectangles, on a grid laid out in the 17th century. It is precisely that grid that put the Beemster on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Zuidoostbeemster is its south-eastern corner, the part closest to Amsterdam. The forest with the bubble tent lies on its edge: between the trees you look straight out over the open polder.

- There is a bus stop a five-minute walk away. From Amsterdam Centraal the bus takes about 40 minutes to the Beemster.
- Parking
- You park free of charge on the grounds, right beside the path to the bubble tent. Safe and close by.
